We arrived in Belgium by train and drove in by car

We arrived by train in Brugge coming from Asmterdam. Instead of a flight more proper was train or bus. But from Brugge my friends and I rent a car that we could pay by credit card. I’m a tour guide living in Brazil and do you believe that? While we were dealing with a blond attendant for the car rental, my friend used a little portable camcorder and filmed….guess what? The legs and panty of the girl under the table. Do you want the film? Write me. We came into Brussels without a city map looking for the hotel already booked through Internet. We took one hour to find it, driving till downtown. Very impressive moments…and our hotel was downtown near the main square and gallery.

Elegant, charming, beautiful old downtown main square. We checked in quickly, parked the car, went for a summer concert there. Local inhabitants and tourists use to sit on the floor square.
I shot lots of pictures with my camera and had plenty of memory cards in order to not miss any angle.

Brussels has a mix of cuisines

Gothic architecture mixed with baroque is all around the square. And it is restored with original golden paintings recovering the majesty of the place. As Brazilian but with German descent I felt at home. Food is excellent and abundant, mix of French and German "cuisines" . Confectioneries, coffee shops, restaurants of al kinds serving tasting beer and also snacks life was for me at it’s highest standard. Open air concert and artistic scenario made us sleep much later. But nightlife was more inside than outside after midnight, different than in Brazil where celebrations go till the morning…

See how the city performs as European Capital

The old city of Brussels with Arab restaurants serving lunch and dinner outside contrasts with the new European capital. We crossed the bridge to modern Brussels and saw the most modern skyscrapers…We were told, that government section of European Parliament. I’m happy to have been there and see transition between old and modern. Visit European capital city I recommend because there are also elegant shops selling porcelain, crystals, jewels and the famous embroideries.
